Vipdomet (alogliptin, metformin)
Vipdomet tablets are licensed for use in people with type 2 diabetes whose blood sugar is not controlled by the maximum tolerated dose of metformin alone, or who are already taking metformin and alogliptin as separate tablets.
This medicine is also licensed for use in combination with pioglitazone or with insulin.

Vipdomet contains two different medicines, called alogliptin and metformin, Vipdomet is taken when it is not possible to control blood sugar through diet, exercise, and other oral anti-diabetic medications such as metformin alone, insulin alone or metformin and pioglitazone were taken together. The recommended dose is one tablet twice a day. If you have reduced kidney function, your doctor may prescribe a lower dose that may need to be given as separate tablets of alogliptin and metformin. Swallow the tablets whole with water. You should take this medication with food to reduce the chance of an upset stomach.
