Canesten Antifungal Cream
Canesten Cream is an antifungal cream for use in treating fungal skin inflammation, including nappy rash. It is of use in the treatment of some conditions as it reduces itching and irritation associated with fungal infections by eliminating them. It is gentle enough to be applied on your baby’s bottom when they have a nappy rash but potent enough to eliminate the rash that results from the same.
How Canesten Cream will treat the infection?
The product has an active clotrimazole from the group of medicines called imidazoles. It is an effective anti-fungal remedy that fights and resists bacteria and fungi to cause fungal infection.
What is fungal nappy rash?
A fungal infection can develop when it finds the perfect environment for growth. This can lead to infections, such as when wearing very tight shoes for a long time, especially if you are active and putting pressure on the shoes. Similarly, if a baby’s nappy is too tight, it can create an environment that encourages fungal growth, resulting in more itching, stinging, irritation, and discomfort for the child.

Do not use Canesten Cream if you or your baby are allergic to clotrimazole or any other listed ingredients.

Canesten Cream is not suitable for nail or scalp infections.

It can reduce the effectiveness of rubber contraceptives, such as condoms or diaphragms.

If using Canesten Cream on your vulva or penis, use an alternative method of protection for at least 5 days after using this product.

Like all medicines, Canesten Cream may cause side effects, although you may not experience them.

How to use Canesten Ointment?

Apply a thin, even layer of Canesten Cream to the affected area 2-3 times a day.

Gently massage the cream into the skin.

Use approximately ½ centimetre of cream for an area the size of your hand.

If applying Canesten Cream to your feet, wash and dry them thoroughly beforehand, paying special attention to the area between your toes.
