Canesten Cream is one of the medicines used to treat fungal skin problems, including nappy rash. It is useful in coping with itch and irritation since this medicine eliminates the occurrence of fungal infections. You can use this cream on your baby’s bottom when they are having a nappy rash.
Usage Prescriptions:
Apply a thin, even layer of Canesten Cream to the affected area.
Use the cream two or three times daily and massage it in gently.
For an area the size of your hand, you’ll need approximately ½ a centimetre of cream.
If using the cream on your feet, wash and dry them thoroughly beforehand, especially between the toes.
How does Canesten Cream Work against fungal skin infections?
Canesten Cream has an active and powerful ingredient called Clotrimazole. It acts like a shield and resists fungal infection. The bacteria and fungi cause serious fungal infections if not cured at an earlier stage, but canesten cream works effectively against fungal nappy rash.
Explain fungal skin infections and rashes?
Fungal skin infections occur when the normal skin fungus, present in everyone, gets a chance to thrive. This occurs in warm and moist conditions, for example, when enclosed within a tight shoeful or in a baby's diaper. It forms a rash, and since the skin is sensitive, it often causes more irritation to you or your baby.
What are cases when you should not use Canesten Cream?
Do not use Canesten Cream if your baby is allergic to clotrimazole or any of the ingredients in the cream.
Avoid using canesten cream for nail or scalp infections.
Canesten Cream may interfere with the effectiveness of rubber contraceptives, such as condoms or diaphragms.
Possible side effects, although not everyone experiences them, may include allergic reactions. Contact your pharmacist if you confront these symptoms.
