Betnovate RD 0.025% W/w Cream/Ointment 100g
Betnovate RD contains betamethasone valerate at a strength of 0.025% w/v.
Betnovate RD is a topical corticosteroid preparation used to treat eczema. It contains a medication called betamethasone valerate, which helps to treat swelling, itching and irritation of the skin. It is available as a cream and ointment in a pack size of 100 grams.
Betamethasone valerate is considered a potent corticosteroid, however Betnovate RD contains betamethasone valerate in a lower concentration than Betnovate.
‘RD’ stands for ‘Ready Diluted’ meaning it contains less of the active ingredient and is used for milder skin problems or to help keep your skin problems under control after Betnovate has improved it.
It is used to treat moderate eczema and can also be used to treat other conditions such as psoriasis and dermatitis.
HOW TO USE BETNOVATE RD CREAM:
Please always follow the medical advice provided or read the patient information leaflet provided with Betnovate RD cream and Betnovate RD ointment.
Betnovate RD should be applied once or twice a day and you should reduce the dose as your skin begins to get better.
When applying Betnovate RD you should:
- Wash and dry your hands before applying it
- Spread the cream or ointment, thinly over the area of irritated skin
- It should be carefully smoothed into the skin, in the direction that your hair grows
- It should not be applied to broken skin or cuts
- You should wash your hands afterwards, unless you are treating your hand
HOW TO STORE BETNOVATE RD OINTMENT:
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the tube end or carton after (EXP) – The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
- Do not store above 25°C
