Warticon Cream 0.15%w/w - Intimate Warts Solution & Cream

Targeted Prescription Treatment for External Genital Warts

Warticon Cream is a specialized prescription medication used for the topical treatment of external genital warts (condyloma acuminatum) affecting the penis or the female external vulva. It contains Podophyllotoxin, an antimitotic agent that works by preventing the growth and spread of the cells that form the wart, eventually causing the tissue to resolve.

How it Works

Warticon is formulated to treat visible warts by:

  1. Inhibiting Cell Division: Stopping the multiplication of the infected skin cells.

  2. Tissue Resolution: Allowing the wart to wither and be replaced by healthy skin over a structured treatment cycle.

Usage & Cycle Instructions

Warticon must be used in a specific "3-days-on, 4-days-off" cycle to allow the skin to recover:

  • Application: Wash and dry the affected area. Apply a small amount of cream directly onto the warts twice daily (every 12 hours) for 3 consecutive days.

  • Rest Period: Do not apply any cream for the following 4 days.

  • Course Duration: This weekly cycle can be repeated for up to 4 weeks. If warts persist after 4 weeks, you must consult your healthcare provider.

  • Caution: Wash your hands immediately after application.

Important Safety Information

  • Area Limitation: Treatment should be limited to a total area of 4cm² (roughly the size of a postage stamp). Treating larger areas increases the risk of side effects.

  • Internal Use: This cream is for external use only. Do not use inside the vagina, urethra, or anus.

  • Sexual Contact: Avoid sexual intercourse while the cream is on the skin and until the site has fully healed. Podophyllotoxin can be highly irritating to a partner’s skin and may weaken latex condoms.

  • Pregnancy: Do not use Warticon if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as the active ingredient may be harmful to the developing baby.

Possible Side Effects

Due to the nature of the medication, localized skin reactions are common:

  • Expected: Redness, mild burning, itching, or tenderness at the application site. This often indicates the medication is taking effect.

  • Serious: If you experience severe skin breakdown, intense pain, or bleeding, stop use and seek medical advice immediately.

Composition & Storage

  • Active Ingredient: Podophyllotoxin 0.15% w/w.

  • Preservatives: Contains Methyl Parahydroxybenzoate and Propyl Parahydroxybenzoate, which may cause allergic reactions.

  • Storage: Store at room temperature (below 25°C). Keep the tube tightly closed and out of the reach of children.
