Neoclarityn 5mg Tablets

Neoclarityn is a second-generation antihistamine medication used primarily to relieve symptoms of allergies. It is an active metabolite of loratadine, which means that is is more effective and has fewer side effects than loratadine.

Neoclarityn provides relief from these symptoms by reducing the allergic response, but it does not cure the underlying allergy.

  • Seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) - Symptoms caused by allergens such as pollen, mold, or dust mites.
  • Perennial allergic rhinitis - Similar symptoms to seasonal allergic rhinitis but occurring year-round due to indoor allergens.
  • Chronic idiopathic urticaria - Long-term hives or itching without a known cause.

It is available in various forms including tablets, oral solutions, and disintegrating tablets. Dosage and administration should be followed as per the recommendation of a healthcare provider.

What is allergic rhinitis?

Allergic rhinitis, commonly known as hay fever, is an allergic reaction that occurs when your immune system overreacts to allergens in the air. These allergens can include pollen, dust mites, pet dander, mold spores, and certain foods. When you come into contact with these allergens, your immune system releases histamine and other chemicals, leading to inflammation of the nasal passages, throat, and eyes.

The symptoms of allergic rhinitis can vary in severity and may include:

  1. Sneezing
  2. Runny or stuffy nose
  3. Itchy nose, throat, and eyes
  4. Watery eyes
  5. Nasal congestion
  6. Postnasal drip
  7. Coughing
  8. Fatigue

Allergic rhinitis can be seasonal, occurring during specific times of the year when certain allergens are prevalent, such as during pollen seasons. It can also be perennial, persisting throughout the year due to indoor allergens like dust mites, pet dander, or mold.

Diagnosis of allergic rhinitis is usually based on medical history, physical examination, and allergy testing, which may include skin prick tests or blood tests to identify specific allergens.

Treatment for allergic rhinitis typically involves avoiding allergens when possible and using medications to alleviate symptoms. This can include antihistamines, nasal corticosteroids, decongestants, and allergy shots (immunotherapy) for severe or persistent cases. Lifestyle changes, such as using air purifiers, keeping indoor spaces clean, and minimizing exposure to known allergens, can also help manage symptoms.

How does Neoclarityn work?

Neoclarityn works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms like itching, sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. It is used to treat various allergic conditions including:

  1. Sneezing
  2. Runny or stuffy nose
  3. Itchy nose, throat, and eyes
  4. Watery eyes
  5. Nasal congestion
  6. Postnasal drip
  7. Coughing
  8. Fatigue
