Glucophage SR Tablets
Glucophage SR long-release tablets contain Metformin Hydrochloride. They are part of a group called Biguanides and are used for the treatment of diabetes. Glucophage (SR) is used to treat Type 2 (noninsulin dependent), diabetes mellitus.
This occurs when diet and exercise alone are not enough to control blood sugar (sugar). Insulin is a hormone that allows the body to absorb glucose from the blood. It can be used for energy or stored for future use. Type 2 diabetes is caused by a lack of insulin production in the pancreas, or a poor response to insulin.
This can lead to a buildup of glucose in your blood, which can lead to serious long-term complications. It is important to continue taking your medication even if you don't have any symptoms. Glucophage-SR increases insulin sensitivity and restores normal glucose metabolism. GlucophageSR can be associated with either stable or moderate weight loss.
GlucophageSR Prolonged Release Tablets have been specially designed to slowly release Metformin in the body. They are therefore different from other Metformin tablets.
