EMLA Cream 5% is a topical anaesthetic designed to numb the skin before certain medical procedures. It contains a combination of lidocaine and prilocaine, which work together to temporarily block pain signals in the area where the cream is applied.
EMLA Cream should be applied to clean, intact skin and covered with an occlusive dressing for the recommended duration before the procedure. This allows the active ingredients to penetrate the skin and provide maximum numbing effect.
Use only as directed and avoid contact with eyes. The cream is for external use only. If irritation, allergic reaction, or unusual symptoms occur, discontinue use and seek medical advice.
