Circadin (Melatonin) 2mg Tablets
Melatonin is a natural hormone that our body releases after the onset of darkness. It makes people feel sleepy and it helps to regulate the bodys circadian rhythm.
Melatonin is licensed for the treatment of jet-lag and it has been found to be particularly effective in those travelling eastwards.
It can also be used short-term in people aged 55 and over, who find it difficult to get to, or to stay, asleep.
The active ingredient in Circadin tablets is Melatonin. This hormone belongs to the natural group of hormones that the body produces. For patients 55 and over, Circadin can be used alone to treat primary insomnia. This is a condition in which there is persistent difficulty getting to sleep or staying asleep or poor quality sleep.
The complete list of side effects associated with Circadin should be reviewed in the patient information leaflet that was sent along with your treatment.
