Azithromycin Tablets are a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. They work by stopping the growth of bacteria, helping your body’s immune system eliminate the infection. Commonly prescribed for respiratory tract infections, skin infections, ear infections, and certain sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as chlamydia.
Azithromycin belongs to a group of antibiotics known as macrolides, which inhibit bacterial protein synthesis. It is particularly useful for individuals who are allergic to penicillin. The duration of treatment varies depending on the type and severity of infection but is usually short, ranging from one to five days.
Take Azithromycin exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Complete the full course even if you start to feel better to prevent antibiotic resistance. Do not take with antacids containing aluminium or magnesium within two hours of dosing. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult your healthcare provider. Store in a cool, dry place and keep out of reach of children.
