Head lice and nits are an all too common problem. The head louse, also known as Pediculus humanus capitis, is a problem pest for many as it is spread quickly and easily. Schoolchildren are particularly susceptible to head lice, especially when they go back to school after a holiday or break. An outbreak of head lice is also known as Pediculosis capitis or head lice infestation.
